Microsoft has updated its Bing search engine with a couple of handy tools for musicians: a guitar tuner and a metronome.
A simple search for each tool brings them up right on the results page, and they’re not half bad.

New York, meet the world’s tech scene
5,000 Tech leaders are coming to NYC this November to learn and do business. This is your chance to join them.
The guitar tuner is basic, but useful: it includes a bunch of common tunings like standard E, drop D and and a few open chords and plays reference notes when you click on the buttons for each string.

The metronome lets you set tempo by style, beats per minute or by clicking a ‘tap tempo’ button. You can also change the number of beats per measure and choose your accent beat.
Both tools — developed by interns at Microsoft who also happen to be musicians — are great for gearing up for a quick practice session or an online lesson in front of your computer.
